A solar eclipse will darken the United States sky on August 21st 2017.

The eclipse is coming. Is doom coming with it?

It’s creating a lot of excitement and I’m still trying to decide who wins the excitement award. The award will most likely go to the California legislators or some bible prophecy teachers. (Here) Both groups are eagerly waiting for the results.

I had to laugh when I hopped in the car this morning and headed for work. A news report had this to say. California legislators are concerned about the strain the eclipse is going to put on the energy sector. California legislators are concerned about everything! They are probably trying to figure out how they can declare a state of emergency before the eclipse. They can reap lots of federal funds for that. After that they will look to increase taxes to help pay for the devastation done after hours of shade in the middle of the day. Unexpected shade is an unprecedented danger in our world. Our legislators are taking it seriously and preparing for this unwelcome time of shade. We can only hope they have enough time. This could be really bad.

Our California legislators fixing the eclipse problem

Never waste a time of panic or fail to raise taxes when the lights go out.

I think that’s the unofficial motto of the California government.

Bible prophecy teachers aren’t missing this opportunity either. (Here) Any eclipse portends certain doom to all who set their eyes upon the foreboding sign. The bible does mention eclipses. There are verses that reference the end of days so for the last two thousand years every eclipse has bible students proclaiming, “thus says the Lord.” This eclipse will be fun to see. I’m looking forward to it because it is rare. I’m not expecting the end of the world. I’ll get up the next morning and drive off to work. On that drive I’ll probably hear about the new eclipse tax that just passed so my paycheck can be smaller than usual. I can’t wait to see what happens.

There are some verses in the bible that something about an eclipse. Take a look and decide if you think this is what we will see soon.

Isaiah 13:10

For the stars of heaven and their constellations Will not flash forth their light; The sun will be dark when it rises And the moon will not shed its light.

Ezekiel 32:7

“And when I extinguish you, I will cover the heavens and darken their stars; I will cover the sun with a cloud And the moon will not give its light.

Joel 2:10

Before them the earth quakes, The heavens tremble, The sun and the moon grow dark And the stars lose their brightness.

Joel 2:31

“The sun will be turned into darkness And the moon into blood Before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes.

Joel 3:15

The sun and moon grow dark And the stars lose their brightness.

Matthew 24:29

“But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

Mark 13:24

“But in those days, after that tribulation, THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT,

Revelation 6:12

I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood;

Revelation 8:12

The fourth angel sounded, and a third of the sun and a third of the moon and a third of the stars were struck, so that a third of them would be darkened and the day would not shine for a third of it, and the night in the same way.

What do you think? It sounds like some dark times are coming but I don’t think it will be this year. I will have to pay more taxes though.

You know the saying. Only two things are certain, death and taxes.

Don’t leave here without life insurance though, eternal life.
